Despite early offensive struggles, Tennessee closed the rubber match with a win.

Tennessee defeated LSU, 3-0, on Sunday to take the series. The No. 4 Lady Vols’ (34-8, 14-4 SEC) victory over No. 7 LSU (35-10, 11-10) marks their seventh consecutive SEC series win and third SEC rubber match victory of the season.

Tennessee softball defeats Stetson, Longwood on 2nd day of Tennessee Classic

Tennessee softball extended its winning streak to four on Sunday, sweeping the second day of the Tennessee Classic.

Tennessee faced Stetson for the second time this weekend, defeating the Hatters, 3-2. The Lady Vols then ended Longwood’s three-game winning streak with a 12-0 run-rule win.

Even though No. 9 Tennessee (12-4) did not play well offensively against Stetson (7-13), it performed much better at the plate in its win over Longwood (6-10).

Tennessee swimming and diving wins pair of gold medals on 3rd day of SEC Championships

Tennessee Swimming and Diving won two gold medals on the third day of the SEC Championships in Auburn, Alabama, on Wednesday. Jordan Crooks and Camille Spink won the men’s and women’s 50 free respectively.

Six swimmers for the Lady Vols earned their place in the A finals. The Vols had numerous qualifiers, including Landon Driggers and Rafael Ponce de Leon Castilla, for their performances. Crooks placed first in the preliminary round of men’s 50 free followed by Gui Caribe who came in fourth.

No. 7 Tennessee sweeps No. 5 USC, moves on to second round of ITA National Indoor Championship

No. 7 Tennessee men’s tennis eliminated No. 5 USC in the first round of the ITA National Indoor Championship, 4-0, on Friday. The fifth-seed Vols will go on to play the No. 4-seeded Virginia at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday.

Lady Vols tennis falls to NC State in close battle

Lady Vols tennis lost its second match of the season on Saturday, falling to NC State 4-3. The loss marks the sixth consecutive defeat of the No. 19 Lady Vols (5-2) at the hands of the No. 7 Wolfpack (6-0).

Despite the loss, Tennessee managed to beat NC State in two singles matches along with the doubles point. Coming into Saturday’s match, NC State did not concede a point to its opponents.

Tennessee swimming and diving defeats LSU on Senior Day

Closing out the regular season, Tennessee swimming and diving beat LSU at Allan Jones Aquatic Center on Saturday.

The No. 12 Vols defeated the Tigers 196-104 and the No. 11 Lady Vols dominated with a score of 204-94. The team achieved four top-10 times in program history, while the Lady Vols did not lose a single swimming event.

Not only was it the last home meet of the season and the last meet before the SEC Championship, it was also senior day.

Allie co-hosts a video podcast to inform viewers of the biggest headlines in sports and news. Allie and her classmate, Sophia Shoenfeld, found the idea after realizing that many of their college friends had very little knowledge of basic current events. Simply Put aims to provide students with digestible, accessible news in an effort to combat social media misinformation and cater to this generation's growing desire for instant content gratification.
